Medvedev's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in especial - caused him falling of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with long-time coach Cervara.

Now collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Corentin Moutet.

Success also signifies he has achieved 21 championships at twenty-one distinct tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is particularly special," stated world number 14 Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The player's counter-punching play style and recurring outbursts on court had led observers to wonder if his capacity to compete at the top level was concluded.

But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to come to the net and perform positively, supported by an better serving game.

Medvedev came back from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging opponent, winning 4 of the last five games to go ahead.

Both players swapped service breaks in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his initial ATP Tour victory, took control to push for a third set.

The opponent saved four early-game break points in a close third set before the Russian secured a break to that score to serve for the match.

Fittingly, the winner earned victory with a shot at the net, with his opponent failing to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
